However, U.S. stockpiles have been diminished due to involvement in conflicts, particularly with Iran. Historically, Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine energy infrastructure during winter, creating a pressing need for Ukraine to bolster its defense capabilities.

Upon their arrival in Kyiv, Zelensky welcomed Witkoff and Jared Kushner at the historic St. Sophia Cathedral, which is located near the site where a Russian drone attacked Ukraine security service headquarters the previous Friday.
